Who We Are

Established in France in 1981, with headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, Aide et Action is an international non-governmental, non- religious and an apolitical organization. Aide et Action has been working in the field of education and human development for more than 28 years with presence in 20 countries (mostly in Africa, Asia, and Latin America and the Caribbean). With projects ranging from early childhood education, to livelihood skills for drop-out youth, to health and HIV/AIDS education, Aide et Action has help educated more than 5 million children at over 25,000 schools. Aide et Action’s projects reached out to the most disadvantaged individuals in any given context to increase the chances for these individuals to overcome obstacles and become empowered members of society.

Aide et Action is widely recognized for its expertise in international education and for its demonstrated impact on the ground. Aide et Action works directly with local civil society organizations and governments and has partnered with a number of international organizations and international NGOs. Aide et Action receives funding from institutional donors (e.g. European Commission (EC), Danish International Development Assistance (DANIDA), Agénce Francaise de Développement (AFD), etc.), corporate and individual donors. It has also been awarded The Crystal Prize twice in France for financial transparency by the France’s National Association of Accountants and Auditors, recognized by UNESCO as one of 40 major actors in education and monitored by France’s “Comité de la Charte” (a member of the International Committee on Fundraising Organizations, a global association of national monitoring agencies).
