Ms. Yasmin Abdeen
President
Born and raised in a multi-cultural society of Singapore, Yasmin Abdeen has lived both abroad and in Singapore. An educator by training and profession, she is a strong advocator for educational opportunities for all: regardless of race, gender or religion. She believes in experiential learning experiences as well as reflective learning. These to her are keys to holistic development of people. Theory must be coupled with practical experience to make the educational experience for the learner enjoyable and more importantly meaningful. Her 20 years experiences as an educator and business has given her the ability to be analytical and to balance influence and vision with integrity and passion.
Mr. Chi-Yang TCHEN
Vice-President
Chi-Yang TCHEN (born in China and a citizen of France) is a Marketing and Strategy Executive for a construction supplier company in Vietnam. He has been a volunteer with Aide et Action in Paris since 2007, representing the association in events and talking to school children about education in the world. He is a member of the General Assembly of AEA France. Chi-Yang has worked as a marketing and sales manager in various industries in France, China and Germany. After further business studies in London, he has relocated to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam to join a local manufacturing and building company as a business consultant.
Mr. Seng Hong
Secretary
Seng Hong was born and bred in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. He is currently working as an Institutional Planning Specialist with the Asian Development Bank in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of Cambodia. Prior to this, he has been working with several international organisations such as Handicap International Belgium and Handicap International France, Vulnerable Teenage for Help funded by the United Nations for Development Project (UNDP), Oxfam International and many others. In addition, he also held the position of an Executive Director for the NGO Education Partnership, Phnom Penh.
Mr. Narongsak Boonyamalik
Treasurer
Narongsak Boonyamalik is working as a Policy and Planning Officer of the Bureau of Policy and Strategy, Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Thailand. Prior to this, he worked as a primary school teacher, external lecturer for Rajaphat Pranakorn University and a Liaison Officer of the 13th Asian Games in Bangkok in 2000. He is well connected with the UNESCO Regional Office for the EFA Mid-Decade Assessment and has an extensive network with educational experts in Southeast Asia.
Mr. Huang Yunong
Board Member
Mr. Huang Yunong is Associate Professor of the Social Work Development Research Center, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, Chengdu, Sichuan. He obtained his Bachelor in social work in Xiamen University, China, Master in social work in the National University of Singapore, Singapore, and Ph.D in social welfare in Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong. His research focuses on emergency management, social work theory, project evaluation, volunteerism, and others. He has published journals in areas of Social Work, International Social Work, China Social Work Research, and others. He is also an advisor for two post-disaster projects of Ren Jia Ping Social Work Station and Chen Jia Ba Social Work Station in Beichuan, Sichuan.
